Later today, Friday 13th November, there is a virtual Extraordinary General Purposes Committee meeting at 2pm.

You can find the usual council paperwork here but there is almost no information as to what the meeting is actually about.

Press & public excluded

It seems from the minimal published documents that press and public are being excluded so whatever is discussed will be discussed in secret.

The only clue as to what the meeting is about is this:

3.1
Senior Review
To consider the report of the Divisional Director, Human Resources and Organisational Development, in respect of a senior review.’

‘Senior review’? Wossatthen?

This a report by Human Resources and, at a guess, this would seem to indicate that it is a reshuffle of senior council officers? What’s secret about that?

Some questions

Moley has emailed Tower Hamlets council and asked these questions.

  1. Purpose of meeting
  2. Why is it ‘extraordinary’?
  3. Why are press and public banned from attending?
  4. What does ‘To consider the report of the Divisional Director, Human Resources and Organisational Development, in respect of a senior review’ mean?

When the council tells Moley he will tell you. Probably something really dull.
